You no longer need to explain Employment Jurisdiction Checks rules every time



Jurisdiction checks often come with a caveat: not every country the candidate lived in requires screening. But how long is “long enough” to matter? That used to depend on our internal thresholds—unless clients sent specific instructions.
We’ve now changed that. Clients can now set their own minimum duration of stay when ordering Employment Jurisdiction Checks (EJC), so we only run checks in countries that meet their internal risk standards.
What’s changed
- Custom threshold input: During setup, clients can now define what counts as a relevant duration of stay—whether that’s 3 months, 6 months, or a year.
- No more side-trackers: Operations no longer need to read through custom instructions or spreadsheets to override the default settings.
- Applies globally: This setting works across all countries where EJC checks are offered.
Why this matters
Previously, if your internal policy required background checks in every country a candidate lived for over 90 days, you had to notify us manually. If you forgot to include that note, the check might be skipped—or triggered unnecessarily.
Now, that policy can be built directly into your setup—saving time, reducing human error, and giving you more control over how risk is managed.
