Managing right-to-work (RTW) and national ID checks requires adaptability, especially when unexpected verification outcomes arise. Until now, the automated status updates applied to these checks in HooYu were final, preventing clients from making changes when circumstances required an adjustment.

To align with other check types and offer more control, we’ve introduced the ability for clients to modify statuses for HooYu RTW and National ID checks directly within the platform.

Challenges with previous status restrictions

Previously, once a HooYu RTW or National ID check was completed, the system would lock the status as "Completed," even in cases where a client needed to review or manually validate the check elsewhere. Similarly, if a check was marked as "Review," it could not be updated to "Completed" when verification was resolved outside the system.

This limitation created workflow inefficiencies, forcing teams to manage exceptions manually without being able to reflect updates in the system.

Our solution: status change flexibility for HooYu RTW and national ID checks

To provide clients with the same flexibility available for other checks, we’ve expanded the status change functionality to allow:

  1. Modifications from "Completed" to "Review" – If additional verification is required, clients can now reassign completed checks for further review.
  2. Modifications from "Review" to "Completed" – When an external verification confirms validity, clients can finalize checks without unnecessary delays.

This update ensures that teams can accurately track the verification status of RTW and national ID checks in real time, reducing manual workarounds.
